Posting Video's in a Forum Post

Using the Old Embed Code

Posting Video's in a Forum Post is very easy on Lee's Fishing Page. You use the Embed Icon Embed Icon. First you need to go to the Video in YouTube or other video source that has embed code for the video. You don't want to use any options other then the one for OLD EMBEDED CODE. I will show examples for YouTube because it is the most likely source of the video.

Embeded Video's can also be used anywhere the Advanced Editor exists, if you see the Icon for Embeded Video's is there it works the same way.

First find the Video you want to embed and look for the Share button on the screen. YouTube Share Button

Press the Share Button and you will then need to press the Embed button. Share Options

Next you will see the Embeded code and options screen, use the Custom option for size and use 500 as the width, you only have to enter the width, height is added and adjusted to the width. Make sure only the Use Old Embed Code option is checked, all others unchecked. (See Below) Embed Options

When Embedding a Video make sure the width is not greater then 600, because this will make the post blow out the right side of the page.

Next highlight the code by clicking on the code window and right click your mouse and select copy. Now go to your forum post to embed the Video in the forum post. Click the Embed Icon Embed Icon after placing the cursor where you want the Video to show in the Forum Post. You will see this popup to copy your Code into. Make sure there is an active cursor in the popup window and press Ctl V to paste the code in the window. Embed Code Window

After you paste the code you need to use the Alignment option on the popup. Select Center as the alignment. Alignment Option

Last step is to press the Insert button to place the video in the Forum Post. You will see something like this representing the video. This is how the embed will look like in the editor

Using IFrame Code

Some sites use only the newer code to embed video's, this section will show you what you need to do to use this IFrame Code if this is the only code available to you. I encorrage all to use the Old Code when ever possible. The process to do a video in IFrame format is much more complicated but not hard to do. It is a two stage process, first uploading the embedded video to a album, then using the Media Gallery Browser to insert the video in the forum or article on the site.

The first step is to fine the video and copy the embed code, use 560 width as a guide to size. This size should work fine for most posting.

You see from the above screen shot that there is no Use Old Code option. Next in Lee's Fishing Page go to an album of yours that you can store the embedded video. Next click the option to Add Media and go to the Remote Media tab. Your entry will look like this.

The Remote Media Type is Embedded Video, upload a thumbnail to identify the video, paste the embedded code in the Remote URL field and give the video a Title. At the bottom of the screen press the Save button to complete the process.

The next step is to use the Media Gallery Browser to place the video in the forum post or article. This is what you need to fill out to post the video. In the screen shot above you see that you select your album that has the video, select video as the attribute, with NO border and NONE for alignment. I use the right, center, left justify in the editor to format placement of the video. Center justification is best. Select the video and press the Insert button to place the video. See below for what this will look like.

That's it, little more complicated but do-able for most I hope. Questions just ask for help.
